JetBlue has joined the ranks of airlines expanding service to the popular Mexican destination, Tulum. The airline has announced the launch of a new route between its hub at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and the newly inaugurated Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport. Commencing on June 13, 2024, the daily flights aim to meet the growing demand for travel to this sought-after vacation spot.

David Jehn, Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue, emphasized Tulum’s allure, stating, “With picturesque beaches and vibrant cultural heritage, Tulum has proven to be a destination in demand by seamlessly blending ancient and modern, in a country that continues to lead with world-class hospitality.” He added, “With the new international airport in Tulum, we are able to bring our customers where they want to go, arriving and departing in a brand new, modern, and convenient airport facility while offering the great service and low fares JetBlue is known for.”

Operating on an Airbus A320 aircraft, the daily flights will depart from New York at 7:55 a.m. and return from Tulum at 12:45 p.m.

Tulum marks the fourth Mexican destination in JetBlue’s network, complementing existing flights to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos. Beyond New York, JetBlue connects Mexico to various U.S. cities, including Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles, Tampa, Newark, and Raleigh.

To celebrate the launch of this new route, JetBlue is offering one-way flights to Tulum starting at just $149. Travelers can take advantage of this offer by booking their flights by December 15. The promotional fares are valid for travel on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from June 17, 2024, through October 30, 2024.

Tulum’s Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport recently opened its doors for the first time this month. JetBlue’s addition to the route aligns with the city’s growing popularity, with other major airlines, including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Spirit Airlines, also planning direct flights to Tulum in the coming year.
